Sooji (Rava) Upma - Main


  • 1 cup Roasted Sooji (semolina/rava)

  • 2 tea spoon (tsp) Ghee

  • ½ tsp Chana dal

  • ½ tsp Urad dal

  • ¼ tsp Mustard seeds

  • ¼ tsp Cumin seeds

  • A piece of ginger chopped

*Optional - Vegetables of your choice (Few peas, chopped beans & carrots)

  • Few Curry leaves

  • Salt to taste

  • 2 cups water


  • Prepare the pan, put 2 tsp of Ghee and you can put oil not too much (optional) to be heat up

  • Put other ingredients one by one: chana dal, urad dal, mustard seed, cumin

  • Put all vegetables (beans, carrots, peas, curry leaves, little sal, 1 cup sooji and 2 cups of water

  • Once the water are boiling put 1 cup roasted sooji and serve
